The best business loan apps and platforms are the ones that decide quickly based on your sales. Our recommended funder, Merchant Fund Express, takes applications online straight from your phone's browser, often decides in 2 to 4 hours and accepts credit from FICO 500. If you already get paid through Square, PayPal or Shopify, their programs make offers inside your dashboard. If you've been in business a year and have 625+ credit, Bluevine and OnDeck offer lines and loans through their online platforms.
One warning: many of the "loan apps" that top the app store are small personal loans. Your business needs business financing, in the company's name, in amounts that actually cover something. That's all we compare here.
Key takeaways
- Our recommended funder takes applications from your phone's browser, with nothing to download, and often decides in 2 to 4 hours.
- Square Loans, PayPal Working Capital and Shopify Capital make offers to people who already sell through them, based on platform history.
- Bluevine asks for FICO 625+, 12 months and $10,000 in monthly revenue; it advertises decisions in as little as five minutes.
- OnDeck asks for 1 year, $100,000 in annual revenue and a 625 FICO; it lends $5,000 to $400,000.
- Personal loan apps don't build your business's credit history and usually lend very small amounts.
- A fast app isn't necessarily a cheap one: compare repayment and total cost before you accept.
The best business loan apps and platforms, ranked
- Merchant Fund Express (recommended funder). No app download needed: you apply online from your phone's browser in a few minutes. It reviews your sales and deposits, not just your score, with amounts from $5,000 to $5,000,000, credit from FICO 500 and decisions that often come in 2 to 4 hours. Collateral isn't required in most cases, applying is free with no impact to your credit, ITIN applicants are accepted (no SSN needed), and Spanish-speaking support is available.
- Square Loans. If you take payments with Square, offers show up in your dashboard and by email; it's invitation-only. They range from $100 to $500,000 and are repaid with a fixed percentage of your daily card sales, with minimum payments. Per its website, applying doesn't affect your credit, funds arrive the next business day if approved (or instantly with Square Checking), and there's no collateral required up to $100,000.

It asks for 90+ days with a Business or Premier account and at least $15,000 in annual PayPal sales on a business account. Per its website, your offer is based on your PayPal history instead of a personal credit check.
- Shopify Capital. For Shopify stores with at least 90 days of sales. Offers appear in your admin and by email. Per its website, there's no credit check, it offers up to $2 million, and funds can arrive within two business days if approved. You repay with a percentage of daily sales.

- OnDeck. Loans from $5,000 to $400,000 and lines from $6,000 to $200,000, with an online application that takes minutes and funding in as little as 24 hours if approved. Its published minimums are 1 year, $100,000 in annual revenue and a 625 FICO. Its site says it doesn't lend in North Dakota and that some industries aren't eligible.
How we ranked these apps
We use the same criteria as every list we publish: speed, minimum time in business, minimum credit, ITIN acceptance or owners without an SSN, documents, amounts and collateral. Here we added one condition: you must be able to do the whole process from your phone. We don't give ratings or use invented statistics. Each company's details come from its official site, checked October 2026. The full method is in how we rank business funding options.
We left out paycheck-advance apps and small personal loan apps. They may help in a personal emergency, but they aren't business financing and they don't build your company's credit history.

Business loan app vs. personal loan app
When you search "loan apps" on your phone, almost everything that comes up is personal lending: small amounts, terms of a few weeks and often high fees. For a business, that creates three problems:
- The amounts don't cover anything. A personal app rarely funds an inventory order, a major repair or a payroll.
- It doesn't build business credit. The debt sits in your name, not your company's.
- It mixes your finances. Using personal money for the business complicates your taxes and your next application.
A business financing platform asks for company details (EIN, entity type, revenue) and deposits into the business account. That's the easiest sign you're in the right place. To keep your books organized from your phone too, see the best small business finance apps.
What the app will ask you for
Almost all of them ask for the same things, and having them ready makes the application take minutes:
- Business details: legal name, address, EIN or taxpayer number, entity type and start date.
- Owner details: ID plus an SSN or ITIN, depending on what each platform accepts.
- A bank connection or statements. Many ask you to link your business account so they can see deposits in seconds; others accept the last three months as PDFs.
- Annual or monthly revenue. Use the real number; it will be checked against your statements.
- What the money is for. One clear sentence helps: "inventory for the season" or "repairing the main oven."
Square, PayPal and Shopify already have most of this, which is why their offers appear on their own. The downside is they only see the sales that run through their platform, not the rest. Our step-by-step guide to applying for a loan online walks through each screen.
Safety: how to avoid a fake loan app
- Go to the official site yourself by typing the address in your browser, or download the app from the official store after checking the developer's name.
- Never pay upfront to "release" a loan. It's the most common scam.
- Be suspicious of sure-thing approvals. No serious funder can promise approval before reviewing your application.
- Don't share codes sent to you by text, or your banking passwords by phone or chat.
- Check the app's permissions. A loan app doesn't need access to your contacts or photos.
- Ask for the full contract before accepting, with the total repayment amount, payment frequency and fees.
- Ignore unsolicited text offers. If one arrives without you asking, don't click. Look the company up on your own.
Which one to choose
- You sell through Square, PayPal or Shopify and already have an offer in your dashboard: look at it; it may be the easiest route. But compare the total cost with another option before accepting.
- You have 12+ months and 625+ credit: Bluevine or OnDeck are good choices for an online line or loan. If you'll draw in pieces, a line usually fits better; see business line of credit vs. loan.
- Your credit is lower, you get paid through several channels, or you need larger amounts: our recommended funder reviews all your deposits, not just one platform's. You can apply with Merchant Fund Express from your phone; it's free and doesn't affect your credit.
- You're not in a hurry and want the lowest cost: a bank, credit union or CDFI. They're less phone-friendly, but usually cheaper if you qualify.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app to get a business loan?
It depends on how you get paid. If you sell through Square, PayPal or Shopify, check whether you already have an offer in your dashboard. If you have a year in business and 625+ credit, compare Bluevine and OnDeck. If your credit is lower or you get paid through several channels, Merchant Fund Express reviews all your deposits and accepts credit from FICO 500.
Are there business loan apps with no credit check?
Shopify Capital says on its site that it doesn't run a credit check. PayPal Working Capital bases your offer on your PayPal history instead of a personal credit check, and Square says applying doesn't affect your credit. Skipping the credit check doesn't make an option cheaper, though.
Can I apply for a business loan entirely from my phone?
Yes. Several platforms let you do the whole process on your phone: Square Loans in your dashboard, PayPal Working Capital with your account, Shopify Capital in your store admin, and Bluevine or OnDeck online. Merchant Fund Express also takes applications from your phone's browser, with nothing to download.
Can I use a personal loan app for my business?
It's not a good idea. Personal apps lend small amounts, tend to be expensive, put the debt in your name and don't help build your company's credit. They also mix personal and business finances. Look for platforms that ask for company details and deposit into the business account.
Can I use a business loan app with an ITIN?
Some, yes. Bluevine says on its site that you can apply for its line of credit with an SSN or ITIN, and our recommended funder accepts ITIN applicants with no SSN needed. Others don't say; ask before you hand over your details. For questions about your immigration situation, talk to an immigration attorney.
How fast do business loan apps deposit the money?
Per their websites, Square deposits the next business day if approved, Shopify Capital in as little as two business days and OnDeck in as little as 24 hours. Merchant Fund Express often decides in 2 to 4 hours. Real timing depends on your application and your bank.
